I have something of a fruit obsession, and recently it has stretched over to my crafting side as well!
Fruit, Specifically Pineapples, are popping up all over the place & being used for a world of things and inspiring trends across the board! I shared tutorials last week for a DIY Apple Tea Towel & Citrus Painting - both of which can be found __.
This week the trend continues as I share a tutorial for this DIY Paint Chip Pineapple Wall Art.

What You Need:
~ Yellow & Green Paint Chips
~ A Pencil
~ Scissors
~ Rubber Cement
~ Ruler
DIY Paint Chip Pineapple Wall Art Tutorial:
Step #1. Begin by trimming your paint chips - cut out just the coloured sections - being sure to remove any writing.Step #2. Using your ruler, measure out grid paper like 1/2 inch squares onto the backs of your trimmed paint chips (as many as you can fit onto each piece).
Repeat these step for both your Yellow & Green paint chips.
Both Steps shown in the images below.
Step(s) #3 & 4. Cut out each individual square; Then cut them in half diagonally to create two right angled triangles!
Repeat these step for both your Yellow & Green paint chips.
Both Steps shown in the images below.
Set aside your individually cut triangles for just a moment!
Step #5. Trace out your Pineapple Shape onto a piece of plain white printer paper.
I have included the Stencil I used below.
I have included the Stencil I used below.
Step #6. Using your Rubber Cement begin adhering the triangles (I am not really sure how to describe the process of how I did this, so check out the pictures below to see how), Be sure that your stencil shape is completely covered in the appropriate coloured pieces (Yellow(s) for the Pineapple & Green(s) for the leaves). Do Not worry about any excess glue, as once the Rubber Cement dries, you can actually rub it right off using just your finger without leaving a single smudge on your paper (I am quite certain I have mentioned this in a previous tutorial, but I really do LOVE this about Rubber Cement). Do Not worry about going over the edges as you will actually be cutting out the entire stencil and re-configuring it kinda like a puzzle!
Step #7. Once your ENTIRE stencil is covered...Flip over your page and begin cutting it all out piece by piece (the rubber cement will have left your tracings visible through the back of the paper).
Step #8. Begin piecing your Puzzle Cut Stencil back together to recreate your Pineapple!!
I used the Stencil Image as a guide while doing this.
Step #9. Using your Rubber Cement again adhere the Pieces onto a page of card stock paper.
& again once dry if there is any glue marks on the page, use your finger & gently rub them right off!
Step #10 & DONE! Frame, Or Hang using a cute Washi Tape!
